Atmosphere tries to emulate the unpredictability of colours that appear and disappear throughout the day. Daan Spanjers singles-out different moments of atmospheric compositions and collects combinations-in-time. By framing spectrums of colours these clocks speak of the transitional qualities of colour and time.
Factors like juxaposition, dust, water, geolocation and perspective determine specific hues – spanning everything from early-morning horizons to total darkness at midnight. Like in reality, every sunrise and sunset lasts a few moments. Atmosphere is the first in a series of time piece colour compositions captured in circular-form.
